At Stone Bank, we believe financial education is the foundation of financial freedom. That’s why we’re proud to participate in Get Smart About Credit Day on October 16th, 2025, a nationwide campaign from the American Bankers Association (ABA) Foundation to help young people understand credit and make smarter financial decisions.
According to an ABA survey conducted in March 2025, 72% of adults said they’d be better off financially if they had learned basic personal finance earlier in life. Even more, 87% believe financial concepts should be taught in high school. Yet too often, teens and young adults enter adulthood without the tools they need to succeed.
Stone Bank’s Commitment
Stone Bank is dedicated to changing that. We know young people face important financial firsts like starting a new job, taking out a student loan, or opening a credit card and we want them to get it right. Through partnerships, community engagement, and outreach events, we’re sharing practical tips and real-world guidance to help you build confidence and strong credit from the start.
As the ABA Foundation reminds us, credit education isn’t just about numbers, it’s about giving people the knowledge to build a brighter financial future. That’s why we’re proud to extend our financial literacy efforts year-round, not just on Get Smart About Credit Day.
How You Can Get Involved
You don’t have to be a banker to make an impact. Parents, educators, and community leaders can all play a role by talking with young people about money. For free resources and information, visit the ABA’s Get Smart About Credit campaign page or contact the ABA at CommunityEngagement@aba.com.
Building Stronger Communities Together
At Stone Bank, we’re more than just a place to bank, we’re a partner in building strong communities. By helping teens and young adults learn smart money habits today, we’re empowering them to succeed tomorrow.
This October 16th, join us in celebrating Get Smart About Credit Day, and let’s work together to ensure the next generation is ready to make confident, informed financial choices.
